{"id":29798,"date":"2026-01-29T13:37:59","date_gmt":"2026-01-29T12:37:59","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/how-to-perform-a-free-ab-test-on-your-landing-page-with-google-optimize\/"},"modified":"2026-01-29T13:37:59","modified_gmt":"2026-01-29T12:37:59","slug":"how-to-perform-a-free-ab-test-on-your-landing-page-with-google-optimize","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/en\/how-to-perform-a-free-ab-test-on-your-landing-page-with-google-optimize\/","title":{"rendered":"Google Optimize: How to Perform A\/B Testing on Landing Pages"},"content":{"rendered":"<!-- wp: --><p>Para el post de hoy, hemos invitado a nuestros compa\u00f1eros de <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitalinnova.com\/\">Vital Innova<\/a> para un post-tutorial sobre c\u00f3mo crear un test A\/B de&nbsp;<a href=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/editor-landing-pages\/\">landing pages<\/a> de tu negocio con Google Optimize en 5 sencillos pasos.<\/p>\n<p>Aunque hasta hace unas pocas semanas Google no hab\u00eda comenzado a publicitar esta herramienta a trav\u00e9s de las newsletters de otros productos, Google Optimize lleva ya disponible para todo el p\u00fablico desde principios de a\u00f1o.<\/p>\n\n<!-- \/wp: --><!-- wp: -->\n\n<p>Lo que empez\u00f3 siendo como una herramienta exclusiva de las versiones de pago 360, ahora est\u00e1 liberada al p\u00fablico, y en esencia, nos permite realizar cambios visuales en una p\u00e1gina concreta de nuestro sitio web para realizar los famosos test A\/B de landing pages y<strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.vitalinnova.com\/optimizacion-conversion-cro\/\" rel=\"nofollow\">dar con la landing page que mejor convierta<\/a>.<\/strong><\/p>\n<h2>Lanzando nuestro test A\/B de landing pages con Google Optimize en 5 pasos<\/h2>\n<p>Como no hay mejor manera de explicar una herramienta que con un ejemplo pr\u00e1ctico, nos ponemos manos a la obra y vamos a crear un experimento en nuestra p\u00e1gina para comprobar si un cambio de color en el bot\u00f3n del formulario de suscripci\u00f3n a la newsletter puede mejorar la captaci\u00f3n de emails.<\/p>\n<h3>Paso 1: empezar con Google Optimize<\/h3>\n<p>Lo primero de todo, es<strong> iniciar sesi\u00f3n con nuestra cuenta de Google en la<\/strong> <a href=\"https:\/\/www.google.com\/analytics\/optimize\/\"><strong>web de Optimize<\/strong><\/a>. Como ya veremos m\u00e1s adelante,<strong> tendr\u00e1s que iniciar sesi\u00f3n con la cuenta que tenga acceso a Analytics y\/o a Tag Manager del sitio web en cuesti\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Al ser la primera vez que comienzas a usar la herramienta, te tocar\u00e1 pasar por una opening screen con diferentes opciones sobre tu privacidad y avisos sobre nuevas mejoras. Y tras varios clics, llegar\u00e1s por fin a la secci\u00f3n de <strong>\u201cMi contenedor\u201d<\/strong> donde por fin podremos comenzar con nuestro experimento.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5529\" title=\"test A\/B de landing pages\" src=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/nuevo-contenedor-1-1024x510.png\" alt=\"test A\/B de landing pages\" width=\"787\" height=\"414\"><\/p>\n<h3>Paso 2: crear nuestro primer experimento<\/h3>\n<p>Una vez dentro, lo primero que tenemos que hacer, como bien nos dice Google ya a la derecha, es crear nuestro experimento haciendo clic en el bot\u00f3n azul correspondiente y completando tres sencillos pasos:<\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong>Asignamos un nombre para poder identificarlo<\/strong>, en nuestro caso lo hemos llamado \u201cExperimento &#8211; Newsletter Form\u201d.<\/li>\n<li><strong>A\u00f1adimos la URL de la p\u00e1gina en la que vamos a realizar nuestro experimento<\/strong>. En nuestro caso, lo vamos a hacer en la <strong>home de Vital Innova<\/strong> (https:\/\/www.vitalinnova.com).<\/li>\n<li>Por \u00faltimo,<strong> seleccionamos el tipo de experimento que vamos a realizar<\/strong> y que en nuestro ejemplo de hoy vamos a dejar el que est\u00e1 por defecto: <strong>A\/B Test<\/strong>.<br>\nFinalizamos d\u00e1ndole al bot\u00f3n de crear y listo, ya tenemos nuestro primer borrador del experimento.<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5534\" title=\"test A\/B de landing pages como hacerlo\" src=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/nuevo-experimento-1024x594.png\" alt=\"test A\/B de landing pages como hacerlo\" width=\"780\" height=\"456\"><\/p>\n<h3>Paso 3: crear una variante<\/h3>\n<p>En los experimentos de test A\/B de landing pages, lo que hacemos es <strong>comparar una base, la original como se llama aqu\u00ed, y una variante de \u00e9sta<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Hacemos clic en el <strong>bot\u00f3n de \u201cCrear variante\u201d<\/strong>, a\u00f1adimos un nombre lo suficiente descriptivo como para identificarla despu\u00e9s si vamos a tener varias, y le damos a agregar. Si lo hemos hecho correctamente, aparecer\u00e1 una nueva fila en nuestro experimento y nos avisa de que no hay ning\u00fan cambio respecto a la versi\u00f3n original, as\u00ed que vamos a a\u00f1adirlo.<\/p>\n<p>Hacemos <strong>clic en la nueva variante<\/strong> (si nos pide que guardemos los cambios lo hacemos), y al ser la primera vez que usamos Google Optimize nos pedir\u00e1 tambi\u00e9n que instalemos una extensi\u00f3n para Chrome.<\/p>\n<p>Como somos obedientes (y no nos queda otra opci\u00f3n porque no nos deja continuar si no), <strong>instalamos la extensi\u00f3n y nos redirigir\u00e1, ahora s\u00ed, al editor visual de la p\u00e1gina objetivo<\/strong> que hemos a\u00f1adido en nuestro segundo paso. En nuestro caso, nuestro formulario de suscripci\u00f3n a nuestra newsletter de Acumbamail se encuentra en el footer, as\u00ed que hacemos scroll hasta encontrarlo como si estuvi\u00e9ramos navegando con normalidad.<\/p>\n<p>El editor es bastante potente y <strong>nos permite cambiar todo tipo de cosas: el texto, su color, bordes, fondos, etc<\/strong>. En nuestro caso, vamos a limitarnos \u00fanicamente a modificar el color del bot\u00f3n y ver si esto produce alg\u00fan efecto en la conversi\u00f3n del formulario de suscripci\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>Podr\u00edamos hacer m\u00e1s cambios como <strong>modificar el claim que acompa\u00f1a al formulario, su tama\u00f1o, etc<\/strong>, pero si nos volvemos locos a\u00f1adiendo todos los cambios en una sola variante no vamos a saber qu\u00e9 cambios son los que influyen en nuestro experimento.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5533\" title=\"como hacer test A\/B de landing pages \" src=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/editando-color-button-1024x634.png\" alt=\"como hacer test A\/B de landing pages \" width=\"781\" height=\"488\"><\/p>\n<h3>Paso 4: asociar el experimento con Analytics<\/h3>\n<p>Estamos ya casi terminando y lo \u00fanico que nos queda ya es <strong>asociar nuestro experimento con nuestra cuenta de Analytics y su objetivo correspondiente<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nota: Estos \u00faltimos pasos son quiz\u00e1 los m\u00e1s engorrosos si no est\u00e1is un poco acostumbrados a tocar c\u00f3digo o a manejaros con Tag Manager, pero no son nada complicados as\u00ed que no os preocup\u00e9is.<\/p>\n<p>Para a\u00f1adir un objetivo al experimento, lo primero es <strong>asociar Google Optimize con una propiedad<\/strong>. Hacemos clic a la derecha donde nos dice <strong>\u201cIr a la p\u00e1gina del contenedor\u201d<\/strong> y nos enviar\u00e1 de nuevo a la p\u00e1gina resumen.<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5532\" title=\"como hacer test A\/B de landing pages con google optimize\" src=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/enlazar-experimentos-optimize-1024x545.png\" alt=\"como hacer test A\/B de landing pages con google optimize\" width=\"785\" height=\"423\"><\/p>\n<p>Ahora a la derecha, nos aparecer\u00e1 ya el bot\u00f3n para<strong> \u201cEnlazar con la propiedad\u201d<\/strong>. Hacemos clic y seleccionamos tambi\u00e9n la vista correspondiente donde vamos a realizar el experimento. <strong>Le damos al bot\u00f3n de \u201cEnlazar\u201d y listo.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Ya casi lo tenemos. Para finalizar, ahora nos queda \u00fanicamente <strong>a\u00f1adir el c\u00f3digo de Google Optimize a la URL donde vamos a realizar el experimento<\/strong>. Siempre que hayamos seguido correctamente los pasos, Optimize nos mostrar\u00e1 un pop-up informativo con el<strong> snippet de c\u00f3digo que tendremos que a\u00f1adir a nuestro c\u00f3digo de Analytics<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Se trata simplemente a\u00f1adir una sola l\u00ednea \u00fanicamente en la URL donde se van a realizar los cambios, no hace falta a\u00f1adirlo en todo el sitio web.<\/p>\n<p>Si ten\u00e9is implementado Tag Manager en vuestra web, ten\u00e9is disponible una <a href=\"https:\/\/support.google.com\/tagmanager\/answer\/7164339?hl=es\">etiqueta ya predefinida<\/a> para hacerlo de manera muy sencilla.<\/p>\n<h3>Paso 5: a\u00f1adir un objetivo al experimento en Google Optimize<\/h3>\n<p>Una vez que ya hemos asociado nuestro experimento con la propiedad correspondiente, ahora <strong>haremos lo mismo con el objetivo sobre el que vamos a intentar mejorar su conversi\u00f3n<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Volvemos a la p\u00e1gina del experimento, y <strong>abajo a la izquierda tenemos el enlace correspondiente para a\u00f1adirlo<\/strong>. Hacemos clic y nos dar\u00e1 ahora la <strong>opci\u00f3n de o bien a\u00f1adir uno nuevo personalizado en funci\u00f3n de alg\u00fan Evento o P\u00e1ginas vistas, o seleccionar alguno que ya ten\u00e9is creado previamente<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Nosotros lo hemos asociado ya con el objetivo que ten\u00edamos creado con anterioridad y que mide las suscripciones a nuestro bolet\u00edn.<\/p>\n<p>Por \u00faltimo, nos queda la<strong> pesta\u00f1a de segmentaci\u00f3n donde vamos a poder configurar qui\u00e9nes son las personas que van a ver nuestros cambios<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Por defecto<\/strong>, el experimento viene creado para que todos los visitantes de la p\u00e1gina se incluyan en el experimento y con una <strong>distribuci\u00f3n de 50% para la versi\u00f3n original y la variante, pero podemos cambiarlo seg\u00fan nuestras necesidades.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>Adem\u00e1s tambi\u00e9n nos permite<strong> seleccionar cu\u00e1ndo van a ver este experimento<\/strong>. Por defecto, nos aparece ya a\u00f1adida la condici\u00f3n de nuestra URL objetivo. <strong>Podremos a\u00f1adir m\u00e1s reglas. Por ejemplo, las personas que vengan de una campa\u00f1a de Adwords o de una ciudad en concreto.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" decoding=\"async\" class=\"alignnone wp-image-5531\" title=\"google optimize test A\/B de landing pages \" src=\"https:\/\/acumbamail.com\/blog\/wp-content\/uploads\/2017\/11\/reglas-target-optimize-1024x495.png\" alt=\"google optimize test A\/B de landing pages \" width=\"813\" height=\"398\"><\/p>\n<p>Una vez seleccionadas nuestras reglas, solo nos queda <strong>iniciar nuestro experimento. Pulsa en el bot\u00f3n de la barra gris superior para empezar a recopilar datos<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Toda la informaci\u00f3n sobre c\u00f3mo act\u00faan los usuarios, la tendr\u00e1s ahora en tu cuenta de Analytics en la secci\u00f3n de Comportamiento &gt; Experimentos, donde pasado un tiempo significativo, podr\u00e1s analizar los resultados.<\/p>\n<h3>Paso 6: Probar nuestra variante<\/h3>\n<p>Ahora te toca probarlo, <strong>ve a la p\u00e1gina donde hayas lanzado el experimento. Luego, prueba a ver qu\u00e9 versi\u00f3n te carga y comprueba el resultado de este test A\/B de landing pages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n<p>Si no has tenido suerte con la variaci\u00f3n, \u00fanicamente tienes que eliminar las cookies de Google Optimize. Despu\u00e9s, carga la p\u00e1gina hasta entrar en ese 50%. Para eliminar esas cookies, abre las Herramientas para desarrolladores de Chrome, ve a la secci\u00f3n de Application &gt; Cookies &gt; Tu URL y elimina las cookies _ga y _gaexp, que funcionan como identificadores del navegador y de la variante.<\/p>\n<p>Una vez eliminadas, recarga la p\u00e1gina y cruza los dedos . Igual te toca hacerlo un par de veces m\u00e1s.
